HISTORY
AND ORGANIZATION
The LSI ( Laboratório
de Sistemas Integráveis -- Laboratory of Integrated Systems
) of the PSI (Departamento de Engenharia de Sistemas Eletrônicos
-- Department of Electronic Systems Engineering) of the EPUSP (Escola Politécnica
da Universidade de São Paulo -- Polytechnic School of the University
of São Paulo) was founded in 1975, by Prof. Dr. João Antonio
Zuffo. LSI begun its activities with a project supported by FINEP, a Brazilian
federal research support agency.
Since its foundation, LSI has had as its
main goals the development of new technologies and the engagement of its
technical personnel in Ph.D. and Master Science programs. The engagement
of undergraduate students in research activities is also strongly supported.
The research areas of interest are the
following:
- DIGITAL SYSTEMS DIVISION:
-
Development of Compilers, Operating Systems
and System Project Tools for Microcomputers and Microprocessors
-
Research & Development of Scalable Paralell
Architectures and Tools for Software- Hardware Co-Design
